About Deborah L. Graham
|
Deborah L. Graham was born and raised in Chicago's Austin Neighborhood.
As a child, Deborah became active in community affairs when she volunteered
with her grandmother through her church to help feed the homeless and coordinate
services and activities for seniors.
Deborah is an active member of the Community Action
Council, an organization that seeks to improve the quality of life in Chicago's
Austin community by providing programs for youth and seniors. She worked at Inner Voice
as a case manager to encourage self-sufficiency among homeless Chicago residents, and provided housing, job
placement, childcare and tutoring services for 40 homeless families. She has been able to secure
grants to support community organizations.
An AFSCME member with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Deborah now works
with the City of Chicago as a Relocation Specialist. She has two daughters and is an active
member of Truth and Deliverance Christian Church in Chicago under the leadership of Pastor John T. Abercrombie.
